Rosie O’Donnell Sells Home Quick

Talk show host Rosie O’Donnell has sold her 6,000 square foot Chicago home on the first day she interior of homeput it on the market. The $2.5 million home  went under contract just five hours after it was listed.

The rapid sale or lucky sale in the current housing market is fortunate for O’Donnell, who started a new TV talk show recently on the Oprah Winfrey OWN network. O’Donnell purchased the home for $2.25 million from the president of the cable TV channel.

The size of the home was one of the major reasons the talk show host sold the home just six months after first buying the place. Her four children visit O’Donnell only on weekends from their New York home. The 12 room home features marble flooring in the front entrance, a large formal living room and 11 foot cathedral ceilings with a large walk-in kitchen.

The upper level of the two-story home has four bedrooms, including a 29 foot long master suite complete with a marble lined master bathroom and two walk-in closets. The fifth bedroom of the house is located on the first floor along a game room that doubles as a family room for family visits with a newly installed theater room for viewing movies.

Rosie is well known for being a major movie buff and she had a home theatre installed shortly after purchasing the house. The house also features a small garden area and a large 2,000 square foot roof deck, which can double for a sun tanning area during summer months.
